What

A Contact Improvisation dance jam!

Who

Beginners and newcomers and all levels of dance experience welcome.

Over 250 of your bestest dancing friends!

We believe this is the largest contact improvisation jam in all of North America! (estimated close to 300 people)

How

Come with loose-fitting or yoga clothes and be prepared to dance in bare feet.
Want to learn Contact Improvisation? Come to our Contact Improv Beginner class.
For all languages - we'll do our best to provide translation.

When

starts Friday, April 14 2017
ends Sunday, April 16 2017
Doors open 9 am each day, and we wrap up at midnight on Friday and Saturday, 6 pm on Sunday.

2017 Details

Three days of Contact Improvisation on one entire floor of the Canadian National Ballet School. Three beautiful studios with grand pianos in every room. The largest contact improv jam in North America, with over 200 people to dance with. Especially welcoming to new people, non dancers, people of all sizes, ages, shapes, mental and physical abilities. The venue is completely wheelchair accessible. LGBTQ welcoming.

For those who request ASL translation, attendant care, or have other accommodation requests, please contact henryhwai@gmail.com by Wednesday, March 29, 2107 to increase the likelihood that we can make arrangements. Earlier is preferred.

2017 Open Planning Meetings

We're planning the next Ontario Regional Contact Jam April 14-16 2017. We invite all members of the Ontario contact community to join the planning group, already in progress.

We regularly accommodate out-of-town teleconferencers, so please let us (ontjam@contactimprov.ca) know if you would like to call in.

We want to plan our way forward in an open way with broad involvement from the Ontario CI community. So join us and help guide our common future.

If you'd like to participate, but can't come to meetings, contact us, and we'll get you hooked in with the group.

Help with Billeting

Can you offer billeting space for our out-of-town dancers? Billets bring their own sleeping bags and pillows; the jam feeds them; all you need to provide is a floor or sofa. Please contact Dmitri at ORCJhousing@contactimprov.ca if your living space has a floor.

We're organizing the 2017 Ontario Regional Contact Jam, April 14-16, 2017, in Toronto.

We invite all interested and committed contactors to join in the creation of another awesome contact dance experience.

We're looking for help with all kinds of sub-projects: flyer design, advertising and promotion, specialty workshops, food preparation, billeting, set-up and clean-up, facilitation, music, budgeting, incorporation, and all kinds of stuff we haven't thought of and you have.

We'd like to invite members of the contact improv community throughout Ontario and neighbourhood to help us pull it all together. If you've got an idea of how you can contribute, please let us know. Contact one of us, and we'll get you hooked in with the group:
