Overall Design and Coordination

1) Questions that we can ask ourselves and eachother, so that ascoordinators, we synthesize our vision and get on the same page:

OUR PURPOSE AND VALUES:
Whatis most important to us?  What do we value?   What do we most want forthis jam?  To emerge from this jam?  What experience do we want to haveand want other people who attend it to have?  (It might help to thinkabout other jams and similar events we have been to)
What experience do we want to have in the process of coordinating it? What experience do we want other people who are helping to create it tohave?

2)The Montreal Jam folks had created roles/committees to cover differentthings.  Here's a possible breakdown from my perspective:
  • Design and Coordination of the Whole Experience - Before event:holding the vision and design of the container, choosing a date, designof schedule of activity for the weekend, budget and cost of theweekend,  finding people for the committees and enabling them withcommunication (online and offline) and whatever support they might need to doit.  During event: facilitating and supporting people who are helpingout, supporting everyone attending to feel clear about what the jam isabout, when things are happening, where things are, feeling a sense ofthe whole, the space, who they can connect with about certain things(like housing, for example), cultivating awareness, a spirit of improv, curiosity, connectedness, play, response-ability, appreciation, embracing mistakes as opportunites to learn and get creative...basically embodying the form of contact improv in all our interactions:)                ~ Tanya
